A timelapse through the telescope. This took ages to process and needed a lot of stabilizing by hand.
Nikon d750
Svbony sv503 102ed (714mm focal length f/7)
I bracketed 5 sets of exposures during totality and 3 during the rest but this is made up of just single exposures.
It took ages to find this location. I knew I wanted the sun directly over a turbine during totality. I knew the sun would be very high in the sky. So I had to find a turbine on a hill with public access to the north side.
Using the US wind turbine database and google earth, I checked every single Texas turbine in the path of totality and decided on this one near Goldthwaite.
Shot at a Texas wind farm from a DJI Air3 using the "70mm" lens.
For a brief period when I was planning for this trip to see the eclipse, I thought that I should leave all my cameras behind and just enjoy it.
The sun would be so high in the sky that you couldn't really have any foreground, and without any context, all the eclipse photos would look the same.
But then I came to my senses and tried really hard to incorporate my environment into the photos. This is one of the attempts, and although it's not perfect, it's unique to my experience.
